Fitness || My crazy routine

Let's just start off with a sorry for no posts- totally failed at the first hurdle with those New Years resolutions!! I have re-jigged pretty much everything- moved from Wordpress to Blogger (which let me tell you, as easy as the instructions seem, learning about DNS etc is pretty hard when you know nothing about code haha) and got a beautiful new theme thanks to Pipdig. Now thats sorted, I think maybe I need to try one a week, and hopefully I'll get right back into it and be able to post more and more. We shall see!

One NY resolution I have stuck to (whoop whoop) is my fitness resolution. Since January 1st I have totally changed my routine (that being paying for the gym and not actually going), the first three weeks I went 3 times a week- just going to the gym, treadmill, a few weighs etc. The aim was to start losing the weight and becoming more comfortable in my own skin having gained a lot in the past few years. It just wasn't working though!

In the past 2 weeks I have been 6 times a week, I've joined a new gym where I can now go to classes every evening and I'm LOVING it (oh, and I've now lost half a stone!!)

Monday:
Circuits- the most insane workout I've ever done in my life- the kind that makes you want to either be sick or faint from exhaustion!! A mix of burpees, press ups & weights this really kick starts my week!

Tuesday:
Power Hour- this one is less intense, but still a HIIT class. Its a combination of step workouts, and body weight exercises. I'm not sure I'm convinced about this one but sticking with it until I make my mind up!

Wednesday:
Body Pump- oh wow this one is hard! Before a few weeks ago I have never picked up a weight in my life, so this has been hard to get the hang of. Bicep curls, clean and lift- what even are these things!? But an hour of weight lifting with squats and lunges has sure done a great deal for my... Ahem.. Bottom!

Thursday:
Body Attack & Pilates- body attack is HIIT and requires ALOT of coordinaton- which I really don't have!! You know that person at the back always a step behind or doing some crazy different move, yea that's me! Pilates is my favourite, it totally stretches out my aching muscles and relaxes me- wish there was a class every evening!

Friday:
Super Circuits- this one involves TRX moves, box jumps, ropes & weights. It's crazy intense, but I love it. The 45 minutes goes really quickly and at the end I really feel like I've accomplished something.

Saturday:
Day off! Which must involve a hot bath with my lush bath bombs to soothe those aching muscles.

Sunday:
Body Pump- again!

I'd like to stick with this for a good few months especially with a focus on the fact it's made my head a lot clearer and focused, with the plus of a bit of weight loss.

What are your favourite things to do in the gym? Gym bunny or classes junkie like me? I'd love to know!

  3. Well done on the gym routine! I try and do a mixture of GRIT classes (like circuits/HIIT), HIIT and yoga maybe once a week as find my muscles can end up feeling quite tense.
